Stationery Store Day began humbly on the first Saturday in August 2022, led by Kristina Burkey of Calliope Paper in Natick, Massachusettes. The inspiration was born from the idea of bringing all these wonderful paper and stationery shops across the country together for a day of celebration.
This year, we'll be celebrating several ways!
SATURDAY AUGUST 1ST!
For all 3 Shorthand locations - The first 20 customers at each of our locations will get a special edition SSD X Karen Schipper tote bag with awesome swag from our favorite vendors. We'll hand out numbers for the first 20 customers in line, so you can shop in peace and still receive our awesome goody bag.
We'll also have exclusive Stationery Store Day Merch for sale!
Highland Park - We'll have the notebook bar activated and ready for you to create the custom notebook of your dreams. Choose your cover, choose your interior pages, choose left or right binding et voila! You have your perfect notebook. This is a great opportunity to purchase a special notebook cover in Dot Grid, Blank or Graph sheets. Our left handed notebooks typically only come with our Lined sheets, this is a super fun time to try out a different paper! 10am to 3pm. Standard Notebook pricing applies.
Larchmont - Sasha from Studio Sasha LA will be on hand to create a custom calligraphy artwork! Tell her the word or short phrase you would like her to write, and she will create some beautiful magic. 10am to 2pm. Free with purchase!

STATIONERY STORE TOUR
This year we'll have a tour for both Los Angeles and the Bay Area! Beginning July 29th you can pick up a passport at Shorthand (or any participating Tour location) and head out on your journey to visit every store! Leave your passport stub with the final store you visit by August 2nd to be entered to win truly awesome prizes. (Gift certificates, fountain pens, custom stationery etc etc)
